The goal of the World Animal Awareness Society was to save this dog. One of the helpers, Cathy Gray, leaned dowп and approached the dog. She offered it some treats to show it that she was willing to help.
As they approached, they observed sores and scabs all over its body, causing it a lot of discomfort. They also noticed that the adult dog’s teeth were growing, indicating that it was a puppy.
They then requested help from the Michigan Humane Society. They put a leash on the dog sitting there and let them take it without any іѕѕᴜeѕ. The dog was clearly relieved to finally be rescued.
It was returned to their facilities and examined. Its age was estimated to be around six months. It had internal parasites as well as a secondary demodectic skin infection, which was successfully treated.
At first, she just wanted to sleep because she was overwhelmed by the teггіЬɩe experience and everything she had been through. Later, she shed her shell while under care and became a very pleasant and sweet puppy. Penélope was the name they chose for her.
She looked and felt considerably better a month later. Then, she joined Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan, a program that takes dogs from shelters and animal control facilities and transports them to a center to train inmates.
Penélope is a dog that requires a lot of care, so they felt this program would be ideal for her.
Penélope was finally ready for three months of training at the Florence Crane Correctional Facility in Lakeland after five weeks of rehabilitation with Cathy. They learn fundamental commands as well as a variety of tricks during the program. You will be eligible for adoption once you have completed the program!
