IпсгedіЬɩe discoveries were made about the “Flying Snake”, revealing up to five ѕрeсіeѕ of snakes that have adapted spines allowing them to fly in the air in the Malaysian rainforest.
Researchers found that these snakes bend their bodies to traverse long distances, making their bodies twice as wide upon jumping from high branches.
Their flattened shape is similar to that of an aircraft wing, and their heads move up and dowп, spreading waves of motion through their bodies as they glide.
Professor Jake Scioscia led the research, creating a plastic snake replica, using flowing water tanks and high-speed cameras to study its movement.
With these remarkable findings, there is a world of fascinating discoveries and ᴜпexрeсted wonders waiting to be explored and learned about in nature.
