250 Dogs Found in “House of Horrors” – What Rescuers Discovered Inside Left Them in Tears

Authorities in Georgia have arrested a couple after uncovering one of the largest and most disturbing animal cruelty cases in the state’s recent history. Nathaniel Levon Curington and Aimee Renee Curington, both residents of Trenton, are now facing multiple felony charges following the discovery of more than 250 animals in severe states of neglect inside their home.

According to a statement from the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA), the arrests occurred on July 9 and were made in coordination with the Dade County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators were first alerted to conditions at the Curingtons’ property on Sells Lane, launching an urgent response to assess the welfare of animals believed to be in distress.

Upon arrival, authorities found a staggering 256 animals living in filth and neglect. Some animals were already deceased, while many others were suffering from untreated injuries, malnutrition, and exposure to hazardous living conditions. All surviving animals were removed from the property and taken to a secure location where they could receive veterinary attention.

“This is one of the worst cases of animal abuse and neglect we have seen,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper. “GDA Law Enforcement is sending a clear message that animal abuse has no place in the state of Georgia.”

The Curingtons are currently facing seven felony counts of cruelty to animals, though the case has been turned over to the Dade County District Attorney’s Office for further prosecution, and more charges are likely. They are being held without bond at the Dade County Jail.
