Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer made it clear this week that the young wide receiver is forcing his way into the conversation with consistent playmaking and an impressive work ethic.

“He shows up every day,” Schottenheimer said. “Literally every day there’s been one or two big plays. And when you do that, you get noticed … you get more opportunities.”

Climbing the Depth Chart

Holden, a former standout at both Alabama and Oregon, joined the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie with everything to prove. His steady production in camp has not only caught the attention of coaches but is also translating into more reps with higher units.

“You’ll see him moving up the depth chart,” Schottenheimer added, hinting that Holden’s preseason performance could put him firmly in the mix for a roster spot.

A Playmaker on the Rise

Known for his size, strong hands, and ability to win contested catches, Holden has become a reliable target in practice, making highlight grabs and showing he can handle a variety of routes. For a Cowboys team still fine-tuning its receiver depth behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, Holden’s emergence is a welcome development. If he continues his upward trajectory, he could be one of Dallas’ surprise contributors when the season kicks off.
