MEET BRAELYNN — THE 5-YEAR-OLD PRINCESS FIGHTING LEUKEMIA WITH A SMILE .N

Five-year-old Braelynn Smith adores pink dresses, Barbies, and singing along to Disney songs — but last November, her fairytale took an unexpected turn when doctors diagnosed her with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Overnight, her playdates turned into hospital visits, and her toy box made room for medicine bottles and IV tubes.

Still, Braelynn never lost her sparkle. Every morning, she asks her mom to braid her hair and paint her nails before heading to the hospital — because, as she says, “princesses don’t quit.” Even during chemotherapy, she colors pictures for her nurses and makes everyone around her laugh.

Her mom, Kaitlyn, admits there are nights filled with tears and fear, but watching her daughter’s courage changes everything. “She’s tired, she hurts… but she never stops smiling,” she says. “She’s teaching me what strength really means.”

The road ahead is long — 18 months of chemo, endless tests, and days where the pain feels unbearable — yet Braelynn’s determination shines through.

And at her last doctor’s visit, when asked what she wanted to be when she grows up, Braelynn grinned and said: “A doctor. So I can make other kids brave too.”
