Latest Update from Brielle’s Family — A Diary Entry No Parent Should Ever Have to Write .l

The past two weeks have taken more out of us than I ever thought a human heart could bear. Each day, we watch Brielle fade a little more — her tired eyes, her fragile skin, the wounds that weren’t there before, and the quiet that has replaced her laughter. It hurts in ways I don’t have words for. Pain has its own language, and it doesn’t speak in sentences.

Life doesn’t look anything like it used to — yet somehow, there are still small moments of beauty we cling to. The way her hand searches for ours in the dark. The way she still tries to smile when she hears her brother’s voice. The way a single tear rolls down the side of her face when we tell her we love her.

What cuts deeply is hearing people say, “She’ll be in a better place,” or “Just stay strong,” as if simple phrases could heal what we’re living through. They mean well — but grief isn’t a problem strength can solve. It is something you learn to carry, even when your arms are full.

Some nights, I wake up hearing her laugh — like an echo from a life we used to have. Other times, I sit beside her and pray for a miracle, even though I’m not sure I believe in them anymore… except when I look at her. Because somehow, despite everything, she is still a miracle.

Tomorrow is uncertain — but tonight, she is here. She is breathing. She is ours.

And that is enough for now.
