A Mother’s Daily Fight: Caring for Two Seriously Ill Children Against Impossible Odds .l

Not long ago, Patryś was a healthy, energetic toddler, taking his first steps and discovering the world with curiosity and joy. That life changed in an instant when he developed encephalitis, followed by severe epilepsy that stole his abilities one by one. Once active and playful, Patryś is now bedridden, enduring daily seizures that place his fragile body under constant strain.

As his family struggled to adapt to this devastating reality, another battle began.

Patryś’s baby brother, Jaś, was born with gastroschisis, a life-threatening condition in which the intestines develop outside the body. Just hours after birth, Jaś underwent emergency surgery. Though the operation saved his life, his health remains fragile, requiring ongoing medical monitoring, specialized care, and frequent hospital visits.

At not even 21 years old, their mother has been thrust into a role few could imagine. She is caring for two critically ill children, both of whom require constant treatment, intensive therapy, specialized equipment, and round-the-clock attention. Her days are filled with medical appointments, sleepless nights, and the emotional weight of watching her children suffer — all while facing financial pressures that grow heavier by the day.

Despite the overwhelming challenges, she refuses to give up. Every seizure survived, every small improvement, every quiet moment of comfort fuels her determination to keep fighting for her sons’ lives. But the cost of medications, therapies, and medical support far exceeds what she can manage alone.

Now, she is asking for help — not for herself, but for Patryś and Jaś. With support, they can continue receiving the care they desperately need. Without it, their fight becomes even harder.

This is a story of unimaginable hardship — but also of a mother’s fierce love, resilience, and unwavering hope that her children will have a chance at a future.
