For 11 hours overnight, an elephant engages in ground digging – curious villagers gather: Surprising ending unfolds!

Elephants are a very intelligent and affectionate animal in the animal kingdom. They are also animals with very good memories. The story below is an example. An Indian elephant dug for more than 11 hours during the night. Many people in Chatra district were curious and confused with this action, so they came together to see. The result then surprised all the villagers. It turned out that this elephant was a mother elephant and it was worth the effort to save her baby from the mud pit.

The mother elephant was out walking with her young calf when the little elephant accidentally fell into a well! Like any good mother would, the elephant set into action to try and pull the ᴅɪsᴛʀᴇssᴇᴅ calf out of ʜᴀʀᴍs way. The determined mum refused to leave her calf, first using her trunk and then her feet in a bid to haul her precious baby to safety.

Unfortunately, the mama elephant knocked more dirt into the hole in her state of panic, making the task of ꜰʀᴇᴇɪɴɢ the calf even more difficult. Unwilling to leave her baby behind, she dug for 11 whole hours, to no avail. The structure of the well made it impossible for the baby elephant to climb up.

The villagers were curious and, of course, confused. No one had any idea what was happening at that moment, and ᴡɪʟᴅ elephants could be ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴏᴜs so they had to keep a certain distance to observe more. It’s not until hours later that they finally figured out the touching truth behind her action: her kid was there, sᴛᴜᴄᴋ in a muddy well. The mother elephant’s actions touched many people and they sought to help her.

The villagers had placed a banana truck nearby to lure the mother elephant away from the well. They then raked the top layer of soil with an excavator so that it wouldn’t fall on the baby elephant and created an exit from which the baby elephant later escaped. Finally, the baby elephant escaped with the help of the villagers.

Jitendra Tiwari, who filmed the drama and helped with the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ, said: “We chopped off a few banana trucks and put it near the well so that the mother elephant moved away for sometime. The plan worked and we used the time remove the heap of sand deposited near the well that was making it difficult for her to ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ the baby.”

The mother then tightly wrapped her trunk around the baby’s slippery, mud-caked body and pulled her out. The duo were later seen entwining trunks and happily walking side-by-side as they continued their journey.
