Uпіqᴜe occurrence: The hyena seized the lion’s һeаd, parading back and forth, almost as if showcasing its ргoweѕѕ after vanquishing the ‘king of the jungle’

A hyena grabbing a lion’s head at South Africa’s Kruger National Park was accidentally recorded by Belgian wildlife photographer Iris Braun. Images of a hyena grabbing a lion’s head walking on the road as a way to ‘show off its prestige’ when it and its members defeated the ‘king of the jungle’.

” The night before, a lioness was seriously injured. It is possible that she was unlucky and fell prey to the hyenas. To take down a lion, the hyenas will have to take action. together in a very harmonious way” . Iris Braun shares.

After choosing its prey, the hyena will persistently pursue the target at speeds that can reach up to 40 miles per hour.

A hyena grabbing a lion’s head after taking down a large prey is quite a rare sight in nature, because they are often the hunted of the ‘king of the jungle’. Iris Braun said: “It is a cruel image, but the life of the wild world is like that. It symbolizes the cruelty in the battle for survival between lions and hyenas. They are enemies of each other and are ready to kill their opponents” .

Hyenas are ferocious carnivores, they are dangerous predators organized in herds. They often look for old and weak prey, or young, injured animals that are not healthy to easily kill. Spotted hyenas live in a “matriarchal” system; the females, in addition to playing a reproductive role, also hold dominance in the herd.
