Whether it’s treating a lion with a gunshot wound, freeing an elephant calf from a poacher’s snare, or assisting a giraffe hit by a vehicle, these heroic veterinarians risk their lives to save the savanna’s inhabitants.

“It’s a challenging job, but one we are deeply passionate about,” says Dr. Njoroge, lead veterinarian for the SWT/KWS team. “Every animal we treat and rehabilitate is a victory, not just for us, but for the entire ecosystem.”

The teams responded swiftly to an urgent call about a young zebra trapped in a muddy riverbed recently.

Using specialized equipment and extensive expertise, the veterinarians carefully extricated the struggling animal and transported it to a nearby rehabilitation center.

After receiving essential treatment for its injuries, the zebra successfully returned to the wild, highlighting the invaluable efforts of these dedicated ecological guardians.

The SWT/KWS and Sky Vets teams are on the frontline of conservation, tirelessly protecting some of the world’s most iconic species.

Whether freeing a lion from a snare, performing surgery on a rhino, or providing critical care to an orphaned elephant calf, these professionals are the unsung heroes of the savanna.
