Yesterday in Arkon, Ohio, was the first day of school for 240 disadvantaged children at I Promise School, the school that LeBron James worked hard to found.

The school will be part of the LeBron James Family Foundation to provide development opportunities for children lacking basic necessities in life.
I Promise School.
“Everything these kids are going through, drugs, violence, guns… I understand it all.
So now that I have the ability, the financial resources, the people, the support, and the city behind me to help, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t do it,” LeBron James shared about his decision to establish a school in his hometown through the Uninterrupted media channel.

Attending this school, disadvantaged children will be provided with a series of privileges such as:
– Free tuition.
– Free uniforms, bicycles and helmets.
– Free shuttle within 2 miles of school.
– Free 3 meals a day, including breakfast, lunch and snacks.
– All graduating students will receive full scholarships to study at Arkon University.
LeBron James has made his mark everywhere, not just in basketball. From fighting for the rights of people of color, directly criticizing President Donald Trump’s crazy statements to creating conditions for disadvantaged children to go to school. There is probably nothing that LeBron James won’t do.

“I want people to know that these kids still need the same opportunities as everyone else. That’s the most important thing. For us, as adults, we have a responsibility to these kids, not to let them down.
We must continue to be not only a teacher, but also a parent, a guide… A true hero in the lives of these children. These children will be our future, not only the city of Arkon, the state of Ohio or the United States but also more” – LeBron James shared more.
Inside the school, in addition to spaces for studying, playing and extracurricular activities, there is also a lobby area displaying items related to LeBron James and his family charity. One of the most special corners is the wall with more than 100 pairs of shoes worn by LeBron James himself during the game.
The I Promise School is a partnership between Arkon Public Schools and LeBron James’s foundation. While LeBron will handle the financial side of things , his team of experts and Arkon Public Schools will ensure that the school’s education meets the same standards as all other schools.
