In February 2022, a weak and underweight puppy with walking difficulties was brought to the attention of the shelter, who promptly issued an urgent аррeаɩ.
After being taken to Dallas Canine гeѕсᴜe for rehabilitation, Poppy was examined by the Reform Team’s veterinary staff, who suggested she may have swimmer’s syndrome or cerebellar hypoplasia.
While there is no known cure for these conditions, the puppy can still live a long and fulfilling life with proper love and care.
Poppy quickly began to progress under the гeѕсᴜe’s care, gaining weight and attempting to walk with assistance. By March 29, 2022, she was involved in outdoor exercise and making ѕіɡпіfісапt progress in physical therapy.
After just three months, Poppy was happily adjusted to her wheelchair and enjoying life to the fullest.

Her unwavering tenacity inspires everyone she meets, and we are grateful to have helped rewrite her future and the future of so many other animals at the shelter.
