The battle of two elephants.
TPO – DNVN – The fight for a mate with a younger male caused the death of the elephant Mavuso and became a sumptuous “party” for the lions.
In the world of wild animals, competition for mates and dominance of the herd always causes many males to fight fiercely against each other. There are even many cases where people lose their lives and the elephant Mavuso is the clearest proof of this.
According to Latest Sightings, in 1998, the male elephant Mavuso was one of six male elephants that scientists brought from Kruger National Park to Pilanesberg Mountain to increase the number of elephants in this place.
After more than 12 years of living in Pilanesberg Mountain, it showed signs of deterioration and was attacked by another young male elephant in an attempt to gain the right to maintain its breed.
Although he fought back fiercely, his opponent Mavuso had youth and agility, so he gained the upper hand. It even caused Mavuso to suffer a very serious injury after stabbing the tusk into his cheek.
In the end, Mavuso had to run away but it was too late now…
Due to too many injuries, the elephant Mavuso died not long after the fierce battle.
And became a sumptuous feast for the lions.
