Meet Addie. She is a beautiful dog with soft, warm eyes that reveal the kindness and love that resides within her. But Addie’s life wasn’t always so blessed. She was adopted from the streets when she was pregnant and suffered from blindness in her right eye. But fortunately, she was rescued just in time, and her story of survival and perseverance is hardly inspiring.
When we first met Addie, she was wandering the streets, disoriented and scared. Her eye was full of puppies and her right eye was cloudy and seeing. We knew we had to help her, so we took her to the vet for a checkup.
Dr. Jeff was amazed by Addie’s resilience and bravery. Despite her blindness, she still wagged her tail and gave him kisses. He examined her eye and found that she was beyond repair, but assured us that she was not causing him any harm. He also discovered that Addie had a serious yeast infection in both ears and that her ear and her ear were very copious. But despite these efforts, Addie was determined to survive and give birth to her litter.
As the days passed, we watched in amazement as Addie gave birth to six beautiful puppies, boys and two girls. We called them Bowie, Cole, Dolly, Ella, Freddie and George. Addie was a caring mother, she took care of her babies and kept them warm and safe. And although she couldn’t see them, she could feel her presence and she was always gentle and loving.
As the weeks passed, we watched the puppies grow and thrive. They were little balls of energy, always playing, playing and exploring their world. Addie was always by her side, caring for them and keeping them present. And although she couldn’t see them, she could hear them and smell them, and she knew each of them by name.
As the puppies grew and became more active, we knew it was time to start thinking about finding homes for them. But we also knew we had to find Addie a home. She had overcome a lot and she deserved a loving family that would care for her and appreciate her. We started advertising her social media, hoping someone would see her and fall in love with her just like we had.
And finally, the day came when we found the perfect home for Addie. A family with three children who lived on a farm, surrounded by fields, forests and streams. They came to meet Addie and fell in love with her immediately. They saw past her blindness and saw the sweet, gentle dog that lay inside her.
Addie cried all the way to her bench at home with six puppies in tow. It was sweeter to say goodbye to them, but we knew they would all go to loving homes where they would be well cared for. And as we watched Addie and her puppies die, we knew we had done something good in this world. We had saved a life and helped a family find a little member to love and cherish.
Addie’s story is full of resilience, courage, and love. She overcame all obstacles to bring six beautiful puppies into the world, and she did it all with joy and care. And although she couldn’t see them, she loved them fiercely and protected them with all her heart. We will always remember Addie and her puppy, and we will always be grateful for the lessons they taught us about the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.
