Since 2019, our family’s life has been defined by one word: fight. That was the year our son Andrey was diagnosed with stage III anaplastic ependymoma, a rare and life-threatening brain tumor. From that moment on, childhood was replaced by hospital corridors, operating rooms, and endless fear.
Andrey has already endured more than any child ever should. He has undergone multiple brain surgeries, intensive chemotherapy, and countless medical procedures. Each time we hoped the worst was behind us, the cancer returned — stronger, crueler, and more devastating. With every recurrence, we watched our son lose pieces of the carefree childhood he deserved.
Recently, we received the news that shattered our hearts completely: the tumor has returned once again, and doctors told us there are no remaining treatment options available locally. We were forced to face the unthinkable — being told to prepare for the worst.
But as parents, giving up was never an option.
Refusing to accept this as the end, we reached out beyond borders, desperately searching for hope. That hope came from a hospital in Barcelona, where specialists have agreed to take on Andrey’s case. Their plan includes three highly complex surgeries combined with innovative therapy not available in our country — a real chance not just for survival, but for a life free from pain.
However, the cost of this treatment is overwhelming, far beyond what our family can afford alone.
