Dorotka entered the world carrying a burden no child should ever have to face. Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and life-threatening congenital heart defect, she was given only slim chances of survival. From her very first breath, Dorotka’s life became a fight — one measured not in ease, but in extraordinary courage.

HLHS means that only half of Dorotka’s heart is able to function. To stay alive, she has already endured multiple open-heart surgeries and countless days inside hospital walls. While other children learned to walk and play freely, Dorotka learned how to be brave. Tubes, monitors, and operating rooms became part of her childhood, yet her spirit never faded.
Doctors and nurses describe her as resilient beyond her years. Her family describes her as their miracle.
Now, Dorotka faces the most critical surgery of her young life — a complex procedure that offers her a chance not just to survive, but to truly live. This surgery could allow her heart to support her growth, her laughter, and her future. But it also comes with immense medical costs, emotional strain, and uncertainty that no family should face alone.
Despite the fear, Dorotka continues to smile. She continues to fight. And her family continues to hope.
They are now asking for help — not out of despair, but out of love. Every donation, every shared message, every prayer brings Dorotka one step closer to the life she deserves. Support means more than financial assistance; it means giving her time, strength, and the possibility of a future filled with moments most of us take for granted.
Dorotka’s heart may be half complete, but her courage is whole. With compassion and support from others, her family believes that her heart can keep beating — and her light can keep shining.
