Despite the fact that no one had visited the property in Florida for weeks, Salvatore remained determined. The faithful dog sat outside the door every day, remaining watchful and hopeful that his family would return to the foreclosed house.
As soon as Gloria Cabal, a resident who rescues dogs, spotted Salvatore where he was located, she recognized the need to lend a helping hand.
Cabal spent nearly a month attempting to coax Salvatore out of his yard with food, water, and treats. However, the scared young dog refused to leave his territory. When a new real estate agent took Salvatore to a nearby park, he came to the realization that his family was not returning. As a result, he allowed Cabal to transport him to the Everglades Angels Dog Rescue. According to Denise Guevara, an employee of Everglades Angels, Salvatore was quite protective of his belongings but never acted aggressively or viciously. After being rescued, Salvatore quickly warmed up to the friendly staff. The employees were heartbroken that this affectionate dog had been abandoned by his owners. Despite previously being afraid of strangers, Salvatore became one of the shelter’s most adorable members, frequently begging for attention and cuddling on people’s laps.
Guevara expressed that Salvatore is an absolute sweetheart. Everglades Angels has made Salvatore ready for adoption, and the team is confident that he will be welcomed into a loving family in no time. The kind-hearted individuals who refused to give up on him have given Salvatore the opportunity to have a second chance with a family that will always be there for him.
