The Stray Rescue of St. Louis was surprised to receive a call that seemed to be out of the ordinary. The caller explained that they had recently bought a new house and found a Pit Bull tied up in the basement. The duration of the dog’s captivity was unknown to them. Upon arriving at the scene, rescuers found a black and white Pit Bull waiting at the foot of the stairs, looking up at them. It was heartening to see that despite being in a frightening situation, the Pit Bull greeted them with a huge grin on her face and wagged her tail energetically.
Due to the shortness of her chain, she was only able to access the lowest stair. Once the dog was freed, they explored the basement and found a significant amount of waste, implying that the dog had been down there for an extended period.
