It’s a common belief that pets are a lifelong commitment, but unfortunately, many families fail to follow through. The number of dogs and cats abandoned each year is quite concerning.
George is going through a similar situation where his owners have decided to move to a new place. However, George is not as excited about this new adventure as the other family members. Unfortunately, the only way for him to get help during this time is by being placed in a crate.
The owners of George made a brutal decision to demote him and leave him on the streets to fend for himself. This decision left the poor dog scared, hungry, and alone in the cold streets, forced to scavenge through rubbish for food. With no other choice, George sought refuge in an area near his previous residence, where he could hide amongst the trees. Despite people’s efforts to rescue him, George remained too frightened to come out of hiding, leaving him in a vulnerable position.
Eventually, George was taken to a shelter, which forced him to confront his fears and skepticism towards humans.
The poor dog relied on the kindness of neighbors or strangers to feed him as he was abandoned and left to fend for himself. However, a glimmer of hope came in the form of a group of kind-hearted volunteers who were able to turn his fate around with the help of Greater Dog, an organization that supports various charitable causes. Despite his friendly demeanor, the dog had clearly suffered from the trauma of being on the streets for several months.
Initially, the top priority was to capture George – a dog that was extremely frightened and untrusting of people. There was a possibility that he might run away or act aggressively if not approached with caution. Therefore, the professionals involved in this mission had to come up with a plan to capture George quickly and safely.
In order to lure George out of hiding, a cage was strategically placed in the woods where he was frequently seen. To everyone’s relief, George was successfully caught without any trouble. This made things easier for those who wanted to help him, as well as for George himself.
Despite his shyness, it soon became apparent that George was a very affectionate dog at heart.
After rescuing George from the streets, our work went beyond just providing him with proper nutrition to help him regain his lost weight. We also focused on rebuilding his confidence, which had been shattered due to his previous experiences. Thanks to months of dedicated treatment and care, we were able to prepare George for a new family.
Today, George is a happy and contented pet who receives all the love, care, and attention he needs. His new family has taken care of his training and has promised to never abandon him. Seeing how happy he is now brings us immense joy and satisfaction.
