Flossie & Freddie’s Journey From Fear to Healing — A Bond Forged Through Trauma
Flossie and Freddie, two bonded dogs who survived an uncertain past, are finally on the road to healing after enduring immense physical and emotional pain. Rescued together and inseparable in spirit, their story is one of both heartbreak and resilience.

Freddie, the gentler of the two, is a big, goofy companion—but it’s Flossie who wears the protector’s mantle. Her strength may have come from necessity, possibly defending her puppies when she was attacked. The whereabouts of her little ones remain a mystery, and the previous owner has refused to provide any further information.
Both dogs were taken from a life of neglect. While Freddie had no visible wounds, he had never received proper medical care and required thorough examinations, bloodwork, vaccinations, and basic treatment to bring him up to health standards. The rescue has spent several thousand dollars on his care alone.
Flossie, on the other hand, came to Noah’s Arks Rescue in a far more serious state. She had been suffering from a severe infection caused by resistant bacteria, which fortunately was addressed with the right antibiotics and a successful surgery that removed the infected tissue. Her bloodwork has since improved, now that her body is no longer fighting a raging infection.

Despite their progress, Flossie and Freddie remain cautious and reserved. They warm up to people slowly—but once they trust you, their playful and loving personalities begin to shine. They’ve likely spent their entire lives together, which is why they must be adopted as a pair. Still, the rescue recommends that future adopters give them some time apart during the day to develop independence and bond individually with humans.
What makes their situation especially heartbreaking is the uphill battle rescues like Noah’s Arks face every day. Posting updates and photos on platforms like Facebook has become increasingly difficult, as even the mildest injury in a photo can get content removed or accounts restricted. That limits awareness and reduces donations at a time when animal abuse cases are on the rise, and funds are critically low.

The reality is simple: every rescue effort is costly—physically, emotionally, and financially. Flossie and Freddie’s journey has already cost thousands, and the rescue is still far from meeting their medical bills. But these two brave souls deserve the love and safety they’ve never known.
With enough support, Flossie and Freddie can find a forever home where they will never be harmed again. A yard to run, people to trust, and the promise of a future without fear.
Please consider donating or sharing their story. These dogs didn’t choose to suffer. But with our help, they can choose love.
