Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that defensive lineman Nick Bosa suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Bosa will undergo season-ending surgery.

Bosa exited in the first quarter after his knee bent awkwardly on a pass rush and did not return. Through the first two games of 2025, he recorded 2.0 sacks, eight quarterback pressures and 15 tackles.

“You don’t just replace a guy like Nick,” head coach Shanahan said. “Everyone has to get better.”

Shanahan emphasized that everyone on the roster will need to step up in Bosa’s absence, noting it will take a collective effort to fill the void left by the All-Pro. Rookie Mykel Williams, Bryce Huff, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Sam Okuayinonu are among the defensive linemen expected to help fill the void.
