Thailand – What began as an ordinary morning in the jungles of Nakhon Nayok quickly turned into chaos when locals discovered a one-year-old baby elephant had fallen into a nearly 2-meter-deep drain hole by the roadside.

🚨 A Tense, Breathless Rescue
Rescue teams, veterinarians, and forest rangers were dispatched within minutes of the call. However, the situation became increasingly tense as the mother elephant grew agitated and fiercely protective, refusing to let anyone approach her trapped calf.
To ensure safety, the team was forced to mildly sedate the mother — a difficult but necessary decision. With the mother temporarily calmed, the rescuers used ropes, shovels, and a small excavator to widen the hole and pull the baby elephant to safety after nearly three hours of nonstop effort.
