In a recent collaboration with YouTuber MrBeast, Cristiano Ronaldo was asked if he would consider playing alongside his son, Cristiano Jr., similar to NBA star LeBron James, who has teamed up with his son, Bronny James, on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ronaldo responded, “We will see, he’s 14, we will see how my legs are going.”
Cristiano Jr., now 14, has been part of the Al Nassr academy, where his father currently plays. While Ronaldo is nearing the end of his illustrious career, he remains in excellent form, continuing to set high standards for longevity in football.
The prospect of a father-son duo in professional football is rare but not unprecedented. In 2015, Brazilian legend Rivaldo played alongside his son, Rivaldinho, for Mogi Mirim, making history when both scored in a 3-1 victory.
Ronaldo’s openness to the idea suggests that, depending on his physical condition and his son’s development, a future collaboration on the pitch could be possible.
