NFL cornerback Mike Greens is making headlines off the field this week — and not for the kind of stats he wants to be known for. The 27-year-old athlete has reportedly filed for bankruptcy, citing more than $500,000 in personal debt… and here’s the kicker: a massive chunk of that is owed to his own mom.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ that Greens has “been struggling with cash flow” ever since blowing through his rookie contract and betting big on a string of “business ventures” that turned out to be more “bust” than boom.
“He tried opening a sneaker line, a crypto app, and even invested in an alpaca farm in Oregon,” one friend told us. “It was giving… financial chaos.”
But fans were truly shocked when court docs revealed that $500K in debt is owed to his mother, Patricia Greens, who allegedly co-signed multiple loans for her son and fronted cash for his failed ventures.

“She wanted to help her baby boy live his dream,” said a family insider. “But now she’s stuck with the nightmare.”
Mike, once dubbed “the future of defense,” is now reportedly selling his custom Rolls-Royce, downsizing from a mansion to a condo, and trying to “figure it all out” before training camp resumes.
Despite the financial mess, insiders say there’s no bad blood between Mike and his mom. In fact, sources say he plans to pay her back “first and in full” once he’s out of the red.
“She raised me, she believed in me… I owe her everything. Literally,” Mike reportedly told friends.
As of now, reps for Greens have declined to comment — but fans are hoping he can bounce back, both on the field and in his finances. Because if there’s one person you don’t want to owe money to… it’s mom.
