Animal was weak and malnourished and was baptized by rescuers. He will undergo rehabilitation and will be forwarded for adoption.
A dog with skin problems was rescued after reports of abandonment in Florianópolis this Thursday (22). The animal was malnourished and weak, according to the Municipal Guard. He was sent for medical evaluation, received care and, as soon as he recovered, will be sent for adoption. The dog was baptized by the guards who carried out the rescue under the name of Valdir.
According to the agents, the complaints made indicated that the animal was left in the Cachoeira do Bom Jesus neighborhood, in the north of the island, a few days ago and was surviving on food scraps found in dumpsters.
The dog’s rescue took place in a peaceful manner on the edge of a forested area and the animal offered no resistance. The suspicion is that Valdir was abandoned by his guardians, according to the guard.
After the rescue, the dog was taken to the Animal Health Care Center (Casa), where it underwent a veterinary evaluation. It was found that he had a skin disease. The dog will continue with treatment at the unit until it recovers and can be sent for adoption.
