Manchester, England – The football world is in shock after Luke Shaw, the star left-back for Manchester United and the England national team, was involved in a serious car accident in the city where he resides.
According to an initial report from Greater Manchester Police, the accident occurred at around 2 a.m. on a motorway leading out of the city. Shaw’s luxury SUV reportedly lost control in poor weather conditions, with thick fog and slippery roads caused by prolonged rainfall. His vehicle collided heavily with the central barrier and skidded more than 20 meters before coming to a halt.
Eyewitnesses near the scene said they heard a loud crash and immediately called emergency services. Paramedics and firefighters quickly arrived, extracting Shaw from the vehicle. He was conscious but clearly in pain, with injuries to his shoulder and leg. He was rushed to Trafford General Hospital for emergency treatment and thorough medical checks.

Hospital officials confirmed that Shaw’s condition is stable and not life-threatening, though he will remain under close observation for possible injuries to his shoulder and leg, with additional tests scheduled.
Manchester United immediately dispatched medical staff and club representatives to the hospital to provide support. Head coach Erik ten Hag expressed his concern:
“We were all shocked by the news. Luke’s health is the top priority right now. The entire team is here for him.”
Teammates such as Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Harry Maguire sent messages of support on social media. Fans worldwide have rallied around Shaw by trending the hashtag #PrayForLuke, sending prayers for his swift recovery.
While the accident thankfully did not result in life-threatening injuries, it serves as a sobering reminder that footballers, despite their fame and success, still face sudden and unpredictable dangers off the pitch.
