On the night of September 12, Page Six unexpectedly reported that Taylor Swift had agreed to testify in the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Taylor Swift agreed to testify, but only if Justin Baldoni’s legal team convinced the judge to extend the time limit for testimony.
The actor’s lawyers denied asking the judge for an additional 13 days. Instead, they agreed with Taylor Swift to take testimony from October 20-25 based on the singer’s work schedule. She released her new album The Life Of A Showgirl on October 3 and would not be able to testify before that time

Shortly after, Doug Baldridge – Taylor Swift’s representative lawyer – denied that the singer would appear in court to testify in the lawsuit between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Sharing with People, lawyer Doug Baldridge said that Taylor Swift was very upset about being dragged into this incident. The singer has never co-witnessed and affirmed that she “had no important role” in the case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. If the court forces her to testify, Taylor Swift will appear in court.
In January 2025, Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. Justin Baldoni counter-argued, accusing Blake Lively of taking advantage of her friendship with Taylor Swift to gain control of the set.
The incident reached a climax when messages from Blake Lively mentioning Taylor Swift were leaked. The actress was said to be “riding on the fame” and taking advantage of her friendship with Taylor Swift as Justin Baldoni accused.
