More than 100 wild elephants in Thailand have just been successfully rescued from raging floodwaters in a massive, breathtaking, and emotional operation. The incident occurred in Surin Province — known for its elephant conservation camps — after days of relentless heavy rain caused rivers to overflow suddenly, submerging the natural habitats of hundreds of elephants.
When the floodwaters struck in the dead of night, hundreds of elephants — including many calves and pregnant mothers — were trapped in enclosures, unable to escape on their own. Their desperate cries echoed across the region, compelling locals and authorities into immediate action.
Without hesitation, local authorities joined forces with rescue teams, military personnel, and hundreds of volunteers to launch an urgent rescue operation.
