The fawn couldn’t have been more ᴜпfoгtᴜпаte: in a split second, the hyena seized its meal after the python had already сɩаіmed it.

The Daily Mail reported that this natural phenomenon unfolded in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa. Mike Sutherland, 34, co-founder of wildlife tour company esѕсарe Safari, was an eyewitness to the entire event. He recorded it on video while driving through the Mombo wildlife camp located in the Okavango Delta.

The video starts with a baby antelope in place as the python quickly crawls across the ground. The video then switches to the antelope on the ground as the python squeezes it.

At the same time a third person appeared, a hyena. He rushed to grab the antelope’s head and let go, while the python was still wrapped tightly around the body.

After a while of fighting, the python finally gave up and left.

.

The hyena quickly approaches to scatter the python’s prey.

Describing the entire incident to Latest Sightings, Sutherland explained: “We arrived during the breeding season for several species such as warthogs, antelopes and wildebeest. As we drove through the area, we came across a group of young African antelopes, some just a few days old and others just newborns.”

But nearby, a python slithered out of a large bush and began hiding under a pile of rotting leaves. An unfortunate baby antelope happened to be walking by and was attacked by the python.

The antelope screamed for help, but attracted the attention of a nearby hyena. And everything continued after that, as seen in the video.”

According to Sutherland, everyone who witnessed the first incident was shocked. The 34-year-old said he had never seen anything like it in his 12 years as a tour guide in Africa.
