They were raised to be meat, but he chose to give them a future.
Actor Daniel Henney joined rescuers in South Korea as they shut down a brutal dog-meat farm where terrified dogs lived in filthy wire cages with no hope of escape. Many had never felt grass, sunlight, or a gentle touch in their entire lives.
Together with Humane Society International, he helped save 67 dogs, carrying them out one by one, comforting them as they shook from fear and confusion.

Some were so weak they had to be lifted carefully, wrapped in blankets and held close just to keep them calm. Others pressed their heads into rescuers’ chests as if they finally understood they were safe.
When the rescue was over, Daniel did something even more personal. He adopted one of the survivors, giving her the kind of love she had never known. The rest of the dogs were flown to the United States and Canada, where shelters and foster families are helping them begin new lives.
What started as a mission to save dogs became a reminder that compassion can break even the darkest cycle. These 67 souls were once destined for suffering, and now they’re discovering safety, kindness, and home for the very first time.
